Dolly ki Doli Movie, which was to be released on 6th of February is now slated for release on 23rd of January in India. Dolly ki Doli movie's story will be something special and different for Indian audiences as this concept has not yet been explored much in India.
Dolly ki Doli means 'team of Dolly'. The word 'Doli' is a Hindi word that means a small team of few people who always stay together. Dolly is the name of Sonam Kapoor's character in the movie who woos guys like Varun Sharma, Rajkumar Rao and Pulkit Samrat and marries them, and then fools him and his family and takes away all of their belongings on their wedding night it also has a song on this theme named Phatt ke Nachna song.
The concept of a con-woman, a bad girl or just of that of a girl doing something out of the box has never been projected so boldly in Indian cinema before Well, mostly because of the culture we share where we treat women equivalent to goddesses and thinking or projecting otherwise would probably make you anti-women or anti-India but the Dolly ki Doli public reaction is quite different and positive.
Malaika Arora Khan who is the wife of Arbaaz Khan (Dolly ki Doli's producer) is playing the role of a bar dancer who performs at weddings and can be seen in the song 'Fashion Khatam Mujhpe', faced negative comments because she is playing the role of a dancer in the movie.
She said in an interview, 'I hate the debates about item numbers in a movie' and that these things should be taken lightly. She added 'People make ridiculous comments about actresses and their physical appearance on social media. I don't understand the fuss about it. Why can't we look at it like entertainment. Indian films are all about song and dance.'
She said that these things should not be mixed with politics and that politicians should refrain from making bad comments about actresses only because they are being a part of an item.
As such things are not welcomed in a positive manner by Indian politicians, such topics like that of a con woman are not very popular in Indian cinema.
